Balayage / Ombre Colour

Balayage / Ombre hair colouring is a very popular choice among our clients. It’s different from highlights and roots to end hair colour as this service uses a lot more precision and artistry. Balayage does not use foils and repetitive strokes like highlights, instead it is hair painting. This method takes a lot more meticulous precision from our stylists, but it creates a beautiful and seamless sun kissed look. Consultations are usually required for this service to understand the clients wants in terms of the look, longevity, style and colour. It is important to consult prior to the balayage so the stylist understands exactly what the client is looking for.

Balayage is a great choice for those looking to liven up their hair without having to maintain it consistently. This technique of hair colouring usually allows the client to go longer between hair colouring as the grown out look of balayage looks very natural.

The product we use for balayage is the Liberty Lightener which is a clay based product. This prevents the hair colour from transferring or bleeding into other sections of the hair. This allows the stylist to be very precise in their technique when doing balayage on the hair.

Balayage FAQ

What is balayage?

Balayage is a hair coloring method that involves painting the hair. Because this technique involves painting the hair, balayage is much more intricate than other methods of hair colouring and allows the stylist to be more exact. This method often results in a naturally sun-kissed look and achieves a gradual transition from roots to end. Balayage can be applied to any hair color and texture and is a popular choice for those seeking a low-maintenance color option.

How is balayage different from other hair coloring techniques?

Balayage involves hand-painting the dye onto the hair creating a more natural look and a gradual transition between colours in the hair. This technique differs from other colouring methods, such as highlighting, which typically involve sectioning off the hair and applying dye in a more uniform pattern using foils. Balayage can also be used to create a variety of looks depending on what the client is after. Balayage can be used for subtle lightening or for more dramatic color changes. This method also tends to require less maintenance than other techniques due to the gradual fading of the color.
